Short little update!

Recently took a bus to Singapore to meet my long lost chinese brother.

Here is a summary of the whole trip:-

Didn’t know what was the best way to singapore under such short notice
Found Aeroline & First Coach -

Aeroline is slightly more expensive – Comes with Subway Sandwich+Bottle of water & drinks
First Coach – Comes with a packet of biscuits (lol)
Similar kinda comfort, but aeroline wins with movies + slightly bigger seats

Took aeroline from BU -> Harbour Front -> Cab to Sands Hotel Tower 1 (sgd8 )
Met my friend
Went up and started drinking
Sands Hotel Rooftop Infinity Pool

Chinaman Paradise

Drank Drank and went out and drink
Ate a very expensive but not that special chinese food at the central?
drank redbull and more beer + mojito
passed out on the sofa
woke up 12 went to VIVO – food court makan – Universal Studios (SGD 68) ouch! but worth it
too chicken to sit on the big blue+red rollar coaster….
transformers was pretty awesome, mummy was good, water world was cool, jurassic park was wet and some other kiddy rides was fun

didn’t go in the club upstairs as the entrance fee was 64!??! AS IF!
so just went out to a bar near the LV island and drank another 5 pints of pure blonde
Made a bet/challenge with my friend to lose weight…….[89kg (Current) to less than 80kg in 4 months]
Got back to the hotel at 4am – played some game and drank more beer till 5
slept till 7
woke up pack bags
say bye to friends
took a cab to The Plaza (5 bucks)
Took First Coach with crazy hang over + uncomfortable tummy + SLEPT THE WHOLE WAY
Back in Bangsar at 2pm –> cab home
Took a shower —> Back to office to finish some work…

That is what I call a fun Weekendish weekday! =)

Just came back from my one month trip of North and South India with my gf.
The whole trip was incredible!
At the beginning, we were really worried about how we should organise the trip. Deborah knew all the location to visit, but we needed to book the hotels and hire a car.
One major reason the trip went so well was because we went with the right Local Indian Tour Agency.

The agency that we went with is called Magic Tours. We found them after reading countless reviews from forums, and travel sites. Many good reviews from previous travellers about them on Tripadvisor, as Deepa the owner is always give advice on the site.

They are professionally managed by really quality staff (Ranjit/Pradeep/Shobna)
They have offices in Mumbai/Delhi, and other big indian cities.

By informing them about our budget and trip requirements. The price they quoted us for the whole trip was quite reasonable as compared to the other local and international agencies.

The tour went really well.
Magic Tour gave us many little surprises along the trip.

Will post about the review of the trip, hotels, restaurants, and others as I update the blog.

We’ve experienced so many things together, one month just flew by so quickly. The trip feels like a dream now, I really don’t feel like coming back!
Everything was just so interesting, fun, colourful and exciting over there.

Sad but now back in the library, working on my dissertation.
The cold weather in UK, and my own cooked food.
The only thing that is doing well is my stomach.
All “thanks” to a devastating poisoning on the houseboat few days before leaving India, where I felt like I was going to die on the boat. No more anything Curry for me for the time being, got so sick of eating spices, for a week I felt like throwing up just by thinking of Curry.

I shall write more about the trip with photos, might be a bit delayed but it will be posted!

Still hanging out walking around…..

Crossed Charles Bridge… The bridge was packed with tourist…with stalls, artist painting portraits and music from band players.

Sat down on a bench for a little rest while I took these…wanted to try slowing down the shutter to get the tram with blur and the building in the background.

Went back to the bridge to check out a jewish area. Wanted to check out a very interesting spot the, The Jewish Cemetery.

It was pretty expensive to get a pass to visit the jewish area… It was some jewish synagogue and some jewish museum…was not interested in all those. Just wanted to see the cemetery. Had to pay for a package thing….Would have gotten a discount, but I left my student card back home. Showed that OLD jewish woman my passport with a big STUDENT visa sticker on it and she said no. I was pissed. what can I say……they know how to make more money…*COUGH*

The museum did not interest me at all, maybe due to the price of the ticket as compared to what was there. However, the cemetery was worth it.

It is 400 over years old, and it was massive with over-stacking tombs everywhere.

After that back to town…walked around and head home.

Thanks to the new Iphone, I made this with iMovie…I held it vertically..should have held it horizontally.

Very old building as well. Apparently it was bombed by the germans during world war and the building was actually bigger but got smaller due to the destruction. Anddddddd… as it was told…after making this, the clock maker was blinded by the king so he would not be able to make another. He committed suicide by jumping into the gears of the clock to wreck it.

Got back to the hotel….changed and went to Bellevue for our dinner. Awesome Anniversary Dinner!
Quite poor after that but worth every bit to see her smile.

Prague Anniversary Visit First Day

Went to Paris –>Prague to celebrate my GF birthday and our anniversary.

Prague is a beautiful city rich with historical sights, there was so many things to do.

We were there for only 3 days, checked out most of the touristic spots and it was good.

Before going so many friends told me how cheap the beer and food is, but when I was there it WAS NOT that cheap.
Maybe I was unlucky and only ate at “tourist” restaurants.
The first one was a big CON JOB! It was a grilled chicken breast, and the waiter asked what side do I want, so he suggested chips and I went along with it. When it came it was a piece of chicken and chips, as described, but it was miserable.

The bill came and I GOT ANGRY, the chicken and the chips was not a set. Who the hell sells a dish with just a piece fried chicken on a plate.
The CHICKEN cost €5!~! and the fries was another €2 !! Was not worth it at all.
I thought €5 for a big chunk of meat with sides will be okie…but big rip off!….I FORGOT THE NAme of the SHOP, but I will google it and find the name and track it down and report it on tripadvisor!!

*Update*!! Found the restaurant on google street view..It is Restaurant U Dominikana,Prague. Wrote a review on tripadvisor! ! BAD REVIEW! Bad Miserable piece of Chicken Schnitzel

Anyways! most of the restaurants food was good and price was alright beer was around 69-90 czk around 2.5-3 euro…not as what my “FRIENDS” mentioned 1 euro for beer! maybe not where we went!

As I have been working crazy hours now, from 7pm – 7am I have to find things to keep myself awake!

So I decided to upload more photos from my Cambodia trip.

BTW..Some idiot tried to steal my bicycle. It was locked to a pole just across the street I am working at, with the window facing directly at the bicycle. He tried breaking the plastic lock to break the metal lock section.
It was cold so I closed the window, hence couldn’t hear the sound of someone trying to rip the lock off my bike.

I AM ANGRY!!! That piece of shit stole my rubber handle, now it will be freaking cold to cycle in the cold cause of the metal bar.

Anyways…k back to the update..

Remaining Nepal Photos

Just realized I have so many Nepal photographs that I haven’t look thru!

Recently, I just got to be aware that my photographs tend to look dark. My pikachu told me about it but I thought maybe it was just my style, and maybe my eyes just assume it looks alright.

Few days ago I saw photographs of photographer Nick Onken, and his bright photographs was really good, everything looks so happy and bright. So I thought I need to improve my style a bit and go for a more brighter happier feel for most of my photographs, unless there is a need for the dark gloomy mood to it.

One needs to be inspired, so looking around for a style that you actually enjoy is important. Somehow his photographs really made me go WOW!
That doesn’t happen often.

Hence, spending a little time past few days going over it and choose the ones I like, and will be posting it up one by one.

Starting with a few now!

One day we decided to take a photo walk (act of walking around with a purpose of taking photos!) around town. We consist of Jimmy, Erin, Calvin, and Me. The purpose of the trip was to learn travel photography from Jimmy Khoo (THE TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHER) lol

This was taken while walking around a town called Kirtipur. We walked around and saw this school playground, climbed up the wall and started photographing these kids.

It was really sunny so the background was really bright.
